Course Description:
This course gives students the opportunity to engage in one of three types of activities: 2500-word translation project,
3000-word academic research, or internship. The three activities enable students to put in practice both their theoretical
and practical skills as novice translators. Academic and professional support through coaching and mentoring are offered
to students in order to enhance their skills and facilitate smooth integration to the local job marke.
Course Objectives:
- Identify and critically review relevant prior theories in order to situate students' research
- Conduct a translation project in one field of translation that they have studied before
- Familiarize with up-to-date data collection and analysis methods used in the field
- Reflect on various issues encountered in translation from theoretical and professional perspectives
- Conduct a practical graduation project which focuses on one translation type
